Prepress

Prepress is an essential part of our production process, and it’s critical for ensuring that our graphics are consistent with our clients’ goals and our standards for excellence. After we receive a file from a client, it enters our prepress process. They ensure that all pictures and other graphics are in the correct format for printing. They inspect the layout to ensure that everything is consistent with the client’s wishes and goals.

Prepress is an exhaustive but altogether necessary process to ensure that the graphics we produce for each client meet and exceed their expectations each and every time. Other essential parts of our prepress process include the following:

• Retouching & File Prep

  We employ six artists who are dedicated to retouching and final file preparation for printing. Each brings a wealth of experience to the process, including more than 20 years each working on the most nationally demanding pictures and layouts. Their skills and familiarity with the older SciTex and Quantel Paint Box digital systems helped give them a leg up on the latest Apple MacIntosh computers and Adobe Photoshop software. • Equipment

  Each member of the prepress team works with the next generation of equipment such as Mac Pros with 12-core Intel Xeon Westmere processors with 12 gigs of RAM and separate 2 TB drives for storage. We are constantly upgrading our equipment to deliver cutting-edge graphics with fast turnaround times while keeping costs low.

• Software

  Our artisans work with the most current version of Adobe CS5, which includes Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and other graphics software such as QuarkXpress. This software also helps us keep productivity high and costs low without sacrificing the quality of our products. Our asset management software allows us to manage data on all project levels. • Fonts

  Suffice it to say that we own the entire Adobe font library and always add the latest typefaces when they become available. This allows us to meet the demands of an ever-changing industry and deliver graphics with fonts that are consistent with each organization’s unique identity. read more…

  For proofing, our staff members also have the very latest equipment such as Kodak Approval (DDCP), Epson Stylus Pro, HP Designjet 2600, Xerox DocuColor 240 and other cutting-edge proofing equipment. read more…
